Hi everyone this is James. Well time for my weekly blog heres the link to. the article http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/31/health/puerto-rico-water-epa-superfund-test-results/index.html
The lead paragraph was able to get my attention. I also like how the article listed the names of the chemicals in. the waiter along with what can happen if you consume these chemicals. I also like the fact that the reporter was able to explain the head line of the article.
I would however liked to see more quotes from people who have had to drink from these wells. Along with a plan for the future if these chemicals were to become more concentrated. I would also like to know if other wells were affected and if so what the consequences will be.
I will make sure to get all the information I need for the project I'm working on with some one else in class. Also, I will be sure to get both sides of the story for my articles. I. have been. the leader in class by showing another student how to use the sound board, along with finding what we need to fix the studio lights.

Hi every one this is James. Well I'm back for my weekly blog post here's the link to the article http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/24/health/houston-flood-flesh-eating-bacteria-kills-man-bn/index.html
Well the headline was able to get my attention, I also thought the opening paragraph was structured well I also like how the reporter listed quotes from doctors who have treated this illness before, along with the fact that the reporter was able to get quotes from the family that was affected. also, I thought it was a good idea to list how this disease spreads.
I personally however, would have licked to. see the full scientific name of the illness since there are a few different bacteria that can cause this. I also would have licked to see more quotes from survivors. Overall I think the reporter did a good job.
I will make sure I get all the information I need for my news stories, along with getting enough quotes from both sides of the story. I have used my time in class to work on Raven Minute along with figuring out inter view times for a project I'm working on with the help of another student.

Hi every one this is James well time for my weekly blog I have put the link to the article I found in this post. http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/10/us/california-wildfire-by-the-numbers/index.html
Well I think the reporter did a good job writing the article in a way that keeps your attention. I also like how the reporter used statics to give us the information we need. I also think the headline does a good job giving you a quick summary of the article.
I do however, think the reporter could have gotten some quotes from people who were affected but don't get me wrong wild fire is extremely dangerous. Also, while I do think a bullet list format was a good idea for this type of article I do think the ending seemed a bit rushed as a result of this.
I will make sure my articles In the future do not feel rushed at the end and I will make sure to get both sides of the story. I have collaborated in class to help get ONW Now set up recently as well as get a new computer connected to the teleprompters.

Hi everyone this is James. Well I'm back for my weekly blog post, here's the link to the article. http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/08/us/hurricane-nate-landfall/index.html
Now some things I think the reporter did well are the fact that the lead paragraph gives you the information you need to understand the rest of the story. I also think the reporter did a good job explaining the headline. another thing the reporter did well was the fact that the article answers the who, what, when, where and why questions.
I do however, think the article was some what long. I also think the reporter could have gotten some quotes from people who were rescued to show a broader range of how people felt that were effected by the hurricane.
I will make sure to get both sides of the story when I'm reporting on a subject. I will also check to be sure the articles I write don't appear to long. some ways I have collaborated in class are the fact that I collaborated with the rest of the production crew to get ONW Now complete along with the fact that I collaborated with the sports information class to help with a foot ball broadcast.

Hi everyone this is James. I 'm about to do my weekly blog post for class. I will put a link to the article I found in this post. http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/26/politics/us-military-response-puerto-rico-hurricane-maria/index.html
I think the headline of the story does in fact get your attention. Also, the lead paragraph answers what is going on, and it answers who, and what the story is about. Another thing I thought the reporter did well was the fact that the lead paragraph gives you information you need to know to understand the story. I also think the body paragraph was able to explain what is going on well.
I do however, think the reporter could have done a few things better. I personally thought the ending was somewhat abrupt. I also do't think it was necessary to write the names of the military units in bolded font type. Another thing I noticed was that the story was some what short.
I will make sure I keep the format consistent throughout my stories. I will also be certain to include information that is required to understand the story and make sure the ending does not seem abrupt. I have collaborated with my class to help get a few stories done as well as to get some of our equipment fixed.

Hi everyone this is James, and I'm about to give my feedback on an article I found online. I will put a link to the article in this post. http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/20/americas/hurricane-maria-caribbean-islands/index.html
I thought the reporter formatted the headline well, the language hat was used gets your attention. It also gives a brief summary of some information you need to know. The lead paragraph has information you need to know and it also answers who was affected and where this happened. I thought the body paragraph was structured well, it supports the lead paragraph and gives you a few quotes.
I do however, think the ending was somewhat abrupt, and the lead para graph is mostly made up of quotes. Also, it doesn't really answer how many people were affected by the hurricane. Another thing I noticed was the fact that the article does not give a very god explanation of how this could affect people who are reeding the article.
I will make sure I explain how the stories I write affect people who reed them. I will also check to . be certain that I . answer the . who, what, when, where, why, and how questions. Also I'll check to . see if the ending sounds abrupt.
I collaborated this week with my class to help get the assembly set up. I also have been working with some one in my class to learn how to use some of the equipment.
